WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - All aboard! Commuter rail service will finally reach the InterLink station at T.F. Green Airport starting next Monday, Dec. 6.
The first train is scheduled to leave Green inbound to Providence and Boston’s South Station at 6:13 a.m.
RIDOT’S director, Michael Lewis, said in a news release Friday that taking the train will appeal to commuters who don’t want to drive in icy or snowy weather.
Tickets between Green and South Station cost $8.25 each way for adults, with discounts for seniors and the disabled. Monthly passes are also available. The full schedule is posted at the MBTA’s website on the Providence-Stoughton route page.
A further extension of commuter rail service to Wickford Junction in North Kingstown is expected next year.
The InterLink rental car, bus hub and parking garage opened to travelers last month.
