WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI)-- A memorial for the Warwick victims of the Station Nightclub Fire has been dedicated in Apponaug.
Mayor Scott Avedisian presided over the 10 a.m. ceremony which included a recitation of the names of the victims and a prayer.
Ten Warwick residents died in the 2003 fire that killed 100 people, making it one of the deadliest nightclub fires in American history. Their likenesses are carved into a stone tablet at the memorial site.
The site of the fire in West Warwick was donated for use as a permanent memorial late last month.
