WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- The holiday shopping season may be over, but that won't stop shoppers from heading to stores today for some post-Christmas shopping and gift returns.

According to researchers, the day after Christmas is the 7th-busiest sales day of the year, and people are now making exchanges, using gift cards, and taking advantage of the available deals.

"Really good sales, everything is usually about 50 to 70 percent off, and I like to get all my Christmas decorations for next year," said shopper Jennifer Whalen.

Despite being out and about, one shopper said she's content with what she already has.

"I have everything I need, I have a family and plenty of love, so I'm good," said Deb Sherman.

Even though crowds can be seen across the state, experts said that nationwide sales this holiday aren't as high as they expected.
