WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - Warwick police are going door-to-door Monday night, visiting all of the registered sex offenders on Halloween.
A team of three police cruisers will be checking to make sure that the convicted sex offenders are keeping a low profile, shutting off their lights and not offering candy to trick or treaters.
"Anybody that you don't know well is a threat, stay close to your kids, have them go to homes they are comfortable, your comfortable with, and assume everyone can be a danger to your children," Officer Steve Lombardi said.
Warwick officers have taken this precaution for the past several years.
