WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – Emergency officials are recommending you take some simple steps to make sure you are fully prepared for Sandy.
The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) says to check your emergency kit to make sure all items are working. Check batteries in flashlights and buy any needed replacements.
Be sure to check that food hasn’t expired and stock up on non-perishables, bottled water and put gas in your car.
You can always charge your mobile devices through a car charger if your house loses power.
Officials also recommend you to secure all loose outdoor items, or take them inside. This includes all Halloween displays and campaign signs you may have in your lawn.
