WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - Single family homes are selling in Rhode Island.
Home sales rose in November, according to a news release Tuesday from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.
533 homes sold last month, while in November of 2010, just 505 were sold. It's an increase of 6% for 2011.
As for homes in the "distressed" market, those sales stayed the same, year to year: 117 homes were sold through short sale or foreclosure last month, the same as in November of 2010.
The realtors association also said the median (average) price of single family homes hit $193,000, a drop of 8% since Nov. 2010, but an increase of 6% from October of this year.
Looking only at single family homes not sold through short sale or foreclosure, the median price stands at $222,500.
