WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - The social host trial of a former Chariho school committee member has resumed in a new location.
The trial of Terri Serra started in Wakefield, but resumed Monday at the Kent County Courthouse in Warwick.
She is accused of hosting an underage drinking party at her Richmond home on the same night four Chariho High School students were injured in a car crash.
Serra took the stand in her own defense, saying that "it was a very hectic and horrific scene."
Serra arrived at the scene of the crash before police, and she reportedly yelled at them but failed to help them, later leaving.
"I was angry, I said 'get out, everyone needs to leave'," said Serra.
She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
