CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – September was a big month for lottery winners in Rhode Island.
Last month, the Rhode Island Lottery paid out more than $10.2 million in prizes to its players.
$4.5 million of these prizes were from Instant Ticket winners, with another $4.1 million paid out to Keno winners. The rest of the prizes paid were through the Wild Money drawing, PowerBall, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life and the Daily Numbers drawings.
It was the Daily Numbers winnings that had the third highest payout totaling $688,260.
Of this $10.2 million, fourteen lottery players cashed in tickets worth $10,000 or more for a total of $386,155 in high tier prizes.
The Daily Numbers drawing is broadcast daily, and Wild Money drawings take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on WPRI 12.
