CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- Cranston and Providence police are investigating a shooting that happened around 2:30pm on Saturday in Cranston.
Police tell Eyewitness News that a 19 year-old Providence man was shot in the leg in the area of 370 Montgomery Ave.
Initial reports say that the shots were fired from a red Nissan Maxima traveling eastbound on Montgomery Ave.
The victim was standing in front of 370 Montgomery when he was shot. A car parked out front was also hit.
Providence police cruisers located the suspect vehicle and it is now in custody of the Cranston Police Department.
Both police departments responded to the scene and officers at Cranston Police Headquarters confirmed that it was a joint investigation with Providence Police.
There's no word on the severity of the gunshot wound.
Police are still investigating this shooting.
