EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) - A new pastor has been appointed to lead East Greenwich's Our Lady of Mercy.
The Providence Journal reports Rev. Bernard A. Healey, most recently pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Lincoln, will begin his new role with the church on August 1st.
Auxiliary Bishop Robert Evans has been administering at the parish since the sudden death of the Rev. Monsignor John Lolio.
Monsignor Lolio died on May 6th after hitting his head during an accidental fall.
He had been with the parish for nearly twenty years.
There's no word yet on who will replace Rev. Healey in his role at St. Ambrose Parish.
