Man arrested for DUI twice in one week

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – A Warwick man has been arrested for driving under the influence twice in only a week's time.

Brian Fracassa, 44, was arrested early Sunday morning by Rhode Island State Police after crashing his car on Route 10 in Cranston.

Fracassa was given a breathalyzer test at the scene and blew a .222, almost three times the legal limit.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and was held overnight for observation.

Upon release, Fracassa was arraigned on charges and released on $1,000 bail.

Francassa's first arrest happened on Sunday, August 12, after North Kingstown police stopped him on Post Road for several roadway violations.

He was charged with DUI, refusal to submit a chemical test, and possession of a controlled substance.

Fracassa is scheduled to be arraigned at 3rd Division District Court on Tuesday August 21, on both the North Kingstown and Rhode Island State Police charges.

The latest arrest comes just days after Rhode Island State police held a press conference to kick off the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
