WARWICK, RI (WPRI) - The HomeTown Buffet in Warwick has closed.
The restaurants parent company, Buffets Holdings Inc. has filed for bankruptcy.
It marks the second time in four years that the company has filed for bankruptcy protection.
The HomeTown Buffet is located on Bald Hill Road in the same plaza as Target and TJ Maxx.
It's the only restaurant in Rhode Island.
Reports claim the company is closing 81 HomeTown Buffet restaurants nationwide.
The Warwick location has been removed from their website.
Buffets Holdings Inc. also operates the Old Country Buffet restaurants.
The Old Country Buffet restaurants are not affected by the filing.
The closest Old Country Buffet is located in Seekonk on Commerce Way.
