WARWICK R.I. (WPRI) – There is just one more day to shop before Christmas and many people were out and about purchasing their last minute gifts.
Last minute shoppers were stuck in some holiday traffic and crowds of people at the Warwick Mall on Sunday.
Domenick Passaro of Smithfield says every year he gets caught in the mob of people because he always waits until the last minute.
The last minute purchases are part of the big bottom line for retailers.
The National Retail Federation estimates holiday spending will increase by 4.1% this year, to $586.1 billion.
Even with all the hustle and bustle of the season shoppers say the most important part of the holidays is spending time with the ones they love.
