WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – A Franklin, Massachusetts teacher was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of child pornography.

Stephen Hickey, 60, of Warwick was arrested after a court authorized search of his home resulted in the seizure of a computer which contained images of child pornography.

According to reports, Hickey told investigators that he had ordered and received DVDs containing child porn, but destroyed them after learning another man had been arrested for receiving similar products from the same company.

Hickey was ordered to have no contact with minors, including students at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, Massachusetts where he is a teacher.

Possession of child pornography has a maximum sentence of up to ten years in federal prison followed by up to 3 years supervised release.
