WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – Fire officials are investigating a fire at an apartment complex in Warwick.
Flames erupted out of the third floor at the Briarwood Meadows apartment complex on Quaker Lane Sunday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said firefighters got to the scene quickly, but the fire had already done plenty of damage.
Assistant Fire Chief Bruce Cooley told Eyewitness news that the fire started on the third floor deck and extended into the attic.
Fortunately, everyone was able to get out of the 24-unit building safely.
The Red Cross is assisting the people who were displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
