EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) -- After a series of openings and closings, the popular Jigger's Diner is set to feed hungry patrons once again.
The East Greenwich landmark held a soft opening on Monday, and will officially be open for business on Wednesday.
Back in August of 2010, Jigger's was forced to close after the organization failed to pay taxes.
Then, after months of discussion, it was announced that the diner would reopen in December of that year. The owner had subsequently worked out a payment plan to cover their debt.
However, for unknown causes, Jigger's was indefinitely closed in November of 2011. The diner stayed closed for approximately a year until new management purchased the building.
New owners Stephen and Karrie Head were excited to renovate Jigger's to its former glory. Throughout the renovations, the couple made sure to keep the diner true to its former self.
Announcements for a reopening were made in August 2012.
According to the diner's owner, the town will hold a grand re-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at 11 a.m.
