Police seek to ID supermarket thief

Man accused of stealing items from Cranston store

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police are seeking to identify a man suspected of shoplifting more than $500 worth of goods from a Cranston supermarket.

Officers say the man entered the Stop & Shop on Garfield Street just after the store opened at 6 a.m. on July 17 and walked out with a large amount of razors and other items.

The suspect is described as an Asian male aged 45-55 years old. It's not known if he had an accomplice or a getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to contact the Cranston Police Department at (401) 942-2211 ex. 5142.
