JOHNSTON, R.I. (AP) -- Police have charged a 36-year-old Cranston man with felony assault after he allegedly broke the middle finger of his therapist during an interview.
The Providence Journal reports that Brad J. Cochran is accused of breaking the finger of therapist Patrick Heap on Monday by twisting it sideways when Heap told him to leave. The therapist said Cochran had become angry and started yelling after he was asked about his finances.
Heap was treated at a nearby emergency room and Cochran was taken to District Court in Wakefield and released on $5,000 personal recognizance.
A hearing is scheduled for March 4. It wasn't known if Cochran is represented by a lawyer.
