CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A notorious convicted killer is no longer seeking to vote in the upcoming election.

The Cranston's Board of Canvassers tells us they received a letter from Michael Woodmansee Tuesday, withdrawing his request for an absentee ballot.

Two board members, including Chairman Joseph DeLorenzo, resigned after refusing to sign off on the request.

Woodmansee was convicted of killing 5-year-old Jason Foreman in 1975. He was released from prison last year and has since committed himself to the Eleanor Slater Hospital.
