CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- Rhode Islanders receiving unemployment insurance benefits can download important tax forms online, rather than waiting for them in the mail.
The Department of Labor and Training announced Wednesday that 1099-G forms are available for download on the DLT's website ( www.dlt.ri.gov/ui ). Anyone who collected benefits during 2012 must declare them on their 2012 tax return, and the 1099-G form is needed for that purpose.
However, if you have not downloaded it before January 31, 2013, the DLT will mail a hard copy out - if you download it, you will not receive a hard copy.
DLT officials say approximately 68,000 1099 forms will be issued this year.
