WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- What do you get when you put 65 local women together who don't like to pay full price for anything?
You get a huge consignment sale!
Call 12 For Action found dozens of women who raided their closets, dusted off handbags they've never used, and decided to make some cash this weekend. All they need are other women looking for a great deal.
Vera Bradley, Coach, Banana Republic, just a few name brands you'll see for a great price in West Warwick this weekend.
If you're thinking that consignment means old, worn out stuff - don't worry. All items being sold are inspected beforehand to make sure they're in good shape. Also, you won't find anything from grandma's closet.
"What you won't find here are the lower-end brands at the women's sale, we decided not to take those, so it's mall brands or better," said organizer Mary-Lyn Siderski.
Stay-at-home mom and mother of 4-year-old triplets Shannon Smitherman is a cognsiner as well as a buyer who's always looking for a bargain.
"It's so reasonable, and you don't have to feel guilty to get something pretty," she added.
This consignment sale isn't all about making a profit. The organizers tell us they're donating any donated items that don't sell.
The sale starts Friday at the West Warwick Civic Center, located at 100 Factory Street. It runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and on Saturday runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
