WARWICK, R.I. (AP/WPRI) - The case of a Warwick man facing a variety of drug and sexual assault charges continues Thursday.
Jurors in James Cook's trial in Kent County Superior Court began deliberating Wednesday after instructions from the judge.
Cook, 46, faces 22 charges, including selling drugs to his niece and sexually assaulting a man authorities allege was physically helpless and unconscious.
Cook's defense lawyer says the state's entire case rests on the testimony of two people who are not credible -- Cook's niece and the alleged assault victim.
Both have admitted substance abuse problems and have been granted immunity for any alleged crimes they were involved in.
