NORFOLK, Mass. (AP) - Norfolk police have charged a teenager in connection with a drinking party that resulted in the death of a high school student.
Christopher Moran was arrested last week but police only released the information Thursday.
The 18-year-old Moran pleaded not guilty to being a minor in possession of alcohol and misleading police. He was released on personal recognizance.
Moran told police he brought 12 beers from his parents home for his personal consumption. He has not been charged with supplying alcohol to others.
Taylor Meyer, a 17-year-old King Philip Regional High School senior, was one of about 20 people who attended the Oct. 17 party at an abandoned airport. Her body was found three days later in a swamp near the site.
Authorities say she drowned. The investigation continues.
