Terri Serra appeals conviction, seeks new trial
Serra was found guilty of misdemeanor on Monday

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – After being convicted earlier this week of violating Rhode Island’s social host law, Terri Serra is appealing her conviction and seeking a new trial.
Serra was found guilty on Monday on a misdemeanor for allowing teenagers to drink alcohol at her home in Richmond back in 2011.
Four of the teens were hurt when their car hit a tree after they left the home.
According to lawyer Robert Mann, the appeal has been filed and no court date has been set.
On Monday, Serra was sentenced to six months probation, 100 hours of community service, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
