WAKEFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) - South Kingstown Police are investigating a robbery in the town of Wakefield.
Officers received a report at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday of a Domino's Pizza delivery driver that was robbed while making a delivery to 4 Mechanic Street in Wakefield.
The driver told police that an unknown person called the Narragansett restaurant and ordered several items off the menu, using the Mechanic St. address.
When the driver arrived, the house was dark and appeared to be abandoned. He was approached by a man wearing a ski mask, and was asked to put the food on the ground, along with his money and cell phone.
The driver was then instructed to leave the area. He believes the suspect may have had a handgun in their waistband at the time of the robbery.
The suspect is described as a male with broad shoulders, standing approximately 5'10" and wearing dark clothing and gloves.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the South Kingstown Police Department.
