Rt. 1 accident sends man to RI hospital

Single car crash still under investigation

SOUTH KINGSTOWN R.I. (WPRI) – South Kingstown police are investigating a single car accident that happened on Tower Hill Rd. near the Rt. 138 intersection.

Fire departments from North Kingstown, Union, and Kingstown all responded as well as South Kingstown Police and EMS.

Police say a 22-year old man from Narragansett was driving in the high speed lane northbound on Tower Hill Rd. when he lost control and hit the jersey barrier.

The car crossed over and exited on the right side ending up in someone’s front yard.

He was taken to Rhode Island hospital by the North Kingstown fire department with serious injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Police are not releasing the driver’s identity.
