RICHMOND, R.I. (WPRI) -- Richmond police kept themselves busy at this year's Washington County Fair, and it had nothing to do with carnival games.
Officers made 16 arrests during the fair, which ran between Wednesday, August 15 and Sunday, August 19.
Police were stationed at the fair to provide security, direct traffic, and enforce the rules, which included a strict policy of no alcoholic beverages or beverage coolers on the premises.
Thirteen adults and three juveniles were apprehended during the fair, none of which were residents of the host town of Richmond:
Police also said that on a few occasions Sunday night, officers were forced to break up fights between several groups of youths on the fairgrounds.
