RICHMOND, R.I. (WPRI) - An assistant soccer coach at Chariho High School is arrested, accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a young boy.
The boy's parents contacted police on Sunday after their son allegedly received inappropriate messages from 51-year-old Glen Matteson.
With the consent of the boy's parents, police posed as the young boy and exchanged a series of text messages with Matteson, according to police.
Investigators say the content was sexual in nature and arrested him Wednesday morning on a charge of indecent solicitation of a child.
Matteson was arraigned on the charges on Wednesday afternoon. He is currently being held at the A.C.I.
Police are asking anyone else concerned about alleged inappropriate behavior involving Matteson to contact their local authorities immediately.
Matteson is due back in court in April.
