SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – Many Rhode Islanders are still picking up the pieces in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but coastal communities had to take a break to prepare for yet another storm.
With just a week’s worth of clean-up under their belt, residents and business owners in South Kingstown had to revert back to “prepare-mode” ahead of the early November Nor’easter.
As waves crashed along the shore, sandbags were hauled back outside to protect buildings and structures made weak by Sandy.
Eyewitness News had the chance to check-in on the Ocean Mist and Tara’s Pub, both located on Matunuck beach. The owners there say they are nervous about the storm, but outlasting Sandy gave them a confidence boost that their businesses will survive.
