HOPKINTON, R.I. - Yellowbook's most recent phone directory has listed the wrong numbers for four fire departments.
According to The Westerly Sun, the Yellowbook's 2012-13 directory for Narragansett, Newport and Westerly lists the phone number of a private residence instead of the number for the Carolina Fire Department in Richmond.
Those who call numbers listed for fire departments in Richmond and the villages of Wood River Junction and Wyoming in Richmond will instead get a police dispatcher in Charlestown.
The chief of the Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire Department says he worries an emergency call will go unanswered.
