NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - After a long journey down the East Coast, a rare calico lobster now officially calls Rhode Island home.

Calvin was fished out of the water in Maine, then spotted in a holding tank at Jasper White's Summer Shack restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

After that, the male, orange and black crustacean was kept at the New England Aquarium's lobster research lab for a week.

But, the Aquarium already has four calico lobsters that are either on-exhibit or being used in research, so Calvin was sent packing again, to Biomes Center in North Kingstown.

The facility is New England's only private marine education facility, and the largest aquarium in Rhode Island. It specializes in hands-on marine biology programs for schools and families.

The owner of the Biomes Center, Mark Hall, says Calvin is a one in 30 million find.
