NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) -- North Kingstown police are asking for the public's assistance in solving a case that's gone unsolved for more than 32 years.
The body of 24-year-old Joanne Lee Reynolds was found brutally murdered inside of her Ten Rod Road apartment back in February of 1980.
Even though the case has remained unsolved, the young woman's memory still lingers with her family.
The department has turned to social media for help, and have created a Facebook page for Reynolds, which can be viewed here.
Officers seek as much information as possible regarding Reynolds' personal life and the days leading up to her death. They hope Facebook users will "share" the profile with as many friends as possible to try to bring the cold case to a close.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective John Urban of the North Kingstown Police Department at (401) 294-3316 ex. 8212, or by e-mail at joannereynoldsnk@gmail.com.
