NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – The former bookkeeper for the late Governor Bruce Sundlun and his wife Soozie, has been charged with stealing over $21,000 from the couple between November 2010 to August 2011.

On Thursday, Rhode Island State Police arrested Teresa A. Roby, 37, of North Kingstown on three counts of larceny and forging checks and debit card receipts.

Roby worked as a bookkeeper for the Sundluns. Police say she allegedly used Sundlun’s debit card, and forged both Soozie and Bruce's names on checks depositing them into her account for personal use.

Investigators say she also charged her children’s martial arts lessons, her cable television, internet, and phone bill to the Sundlun’s credit card.

Roby was arraigned and released on $10,000 personal recognizance.
