MYSTIC, Conn. (WPRI) -- A pair of rehabilitated seal pups will soon be back in their natural habitat.

The 5-month-old harbor seals, Hershey and Brunswick, were rescued in Maine back in May. They began their rehab at University of New England's Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center in Biddeford, Maine, before being transferred to Mystic.

When rescued, the two seals were thin and dehydrated among other issues.

An animal rescue team will release the pups into the waters of Charlestown Breachway State Beach at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Anyone who witnesses a marine mammal or sea turtle in distress is asked to call Mystic Aquarium's 24-hour hotline at 860-572-5955.
