Police probe fatal crash in Exeter

One killed, one seriously injured

HOPKINTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Police are investigating a crash in Exeter that left one person dead and another person seriously injured.

The two-car crash happened on Nooseneck Hill Road shortly before 6 a.m. Friday morning.

Police believe Robert Bates, 83, of Exeter was killed when he took a left turn out of a parking lot of 'Middle of Nowhere Diner,' then collided with a car.

The other vehicle was driven by Mark Bauer, 49. Bauer's condition has not been released. Police continue to investigate the crash.
