HOPKINTON, R.I. (WPRI) -- A former Hopkinton police sergeant is facing criminal charges again.
John Patton was arrested in South Kingstown this weekend after another driver called police to report his erratic driving.
He's now been charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving.
Back in July, Patton was arrested after a two-hour standoff at a relative's home in Cranston.
He was suspended from the force without pay and later retired.
