EXETER, R.I. (WPRI) -- Elected officials and members of the Rhode Island National Guard are marking Memorial Day at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Governor Lincoln Chafee, Senator Jack Reed, and Major General Kevin McBride are among the officials scheduled to speak at the memorial.

The Veterans Cemetery is located on South Country trail in Exeter and spans 265 acres.  An Avenue of Flags decorates the roadways on the grounds every year for the Memorial Day ceremonies, consisting of over 300 flags presented by members of the public in memory of Rhode Island's fallen servicemen.
