ATTLEBORO, MASS. (WPRI)- Two Massachusetts men escaped a brush with death during a business trip to Arizona.
A large rock fell from a canyon wall and crashed through the windshield of their rental SUV
Peter Wilson and his 74-year-old business partner were on business in Arizona when they decided to do some sight-seeing. Their trips through Oak Creek Canyon nearly killed them, when a 150-pound boulder crashed right through their front windshield.
The boulder landed in between the two men, then rolled onto Wilson's co-workers lap. Both men suffered only minor cuts. The rental car didn't do so well.
"When it came down, it came square through the windshield. It didn't hit the hood, it didn't hit the top of the SUV, it went through the glass and hit the dashboard. That's what saved us", said Wilson.
He is offering a word of advice to people when they travel, if you see a sign that says "watch for falling rocks", make sure to look out.
