Mass. state trooper injured in crash

Cruiser left the road and struck a utility pole

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WPRI) -- A Mass. State Police sergeant was hospitalized Monday morning following a one-car crash in West Bridgewater.

According to police, the cruiser left the roadway at about 6:50 a.m. and struck a utility pole on South Main Street.

The unidentified trooper was transported to Brockton Hospital to be evaluated for what police are calling minor injuries. He has since been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
