BOSTON, Mass. (WPRI) -- There is a battle brewing on Beacon Hill over what the state's official rock song should be.
Two Massachusetts lawmakers have filed legislation that would make Aerosmith's "Dream On" the official state song. Aerosmith got their start in Boston, and many members now live on the South Shore.
However, others have proposed The Modern Lovers classic "Roadrunner" because the song alludes to state locations, such as Route 128.
