TAUNTON, Mass. - (WPRI) A robbery suspect is accused of hitching a ride with a woman and robbing a Taunton bank.

Police say the woman drove Francis Megna, 65, to the Mechanics Cooperative Bank on County Street Monday morning.

After leaving the bank, the woman allegedly then drove Megna to another address, where he got out and fled.

The woman went back to the bank and cooperated with police once she realized what happened.

Megna was arrested on Ellen Drive a few hours later.

He is charged with one count of unarmed robbery.
