FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) -- A new Lizzie Borden display at the Fall River Historical Society features some gruesome post-mortem photos that have never before been shown publicly.

"Echoes of Lizzie" is a temporary exhibit that marks the 120th anniversary of the infamous ax murders of her father and stepmother, Andrew and Abby Borden.

The post-mortem photos are just some of the items on display at the society.

The Herald News of Fall River reports that a post-mortem photograph of Abby shows several hatchet wounds. It also features the pillow shams that were on the bed she was making when she was killed and her blood in a glass vial.

Lizzie Borden was charged with killing her father and stepmother in 1892. Although she was acquitted, to this day her innocence is questioned.
