PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Fall River man faces up to life in federal prison for bounding and robbing employees of a West Greenwich bank at gunpoint.

Craig A. Carey, 43, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to federal bank robbery, conspiracy and firearm charges in connection with the robbery that occurred back in May of 2011.

His co-defendant, Louis Peters, 23, of Vermont, pleaded guilty to similar charges in January.

The two men both admitted in court to confronting the manager of Centreville Savings Bank, located on Victory Highway, as the manager prepared to enter the bank. Once inside, Carey and Peters bound other employees with plastic zip ties as they entered the bank, then robbed the bank of approximately $82,000.

The two suspects were arrested a short time later after police spotted Peters sitting in a parked car and Carey walking a short distance away.

Both men have been detained since their arrest.

Carey is scheduled to be sentenced in January. A date for Peters' sentencing has not yet been set.
