Police net arrest in Fairhaven murder
Suspect pleaded not guilty, ordered held

LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) -- A 27-year-old Lawrence man has been arraigned on a murder charge nearly one year after the shooting death of a Fairhaven man.
Josue Diaz was arraigned Monday in Lawrence District Court. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail.
Diaz was arrested over the weekend and charged with killing 29-year-old Johan Miranda in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2011.
Police said Miranda was visiting relatives when he was shot following some sort of argument outside a food truck parked near the city common. Miranda had stopped for something to eat after visiting some city clubs.
Police did not immediately say what led to the arrest, but they had previously released surveillance video from the night of the shooting.
Diaz is due back in court next month.
