Permit testing benefits Attleboro residents

Attleboro registry branch adds permit testing

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) -- A permit testing service was added to Attleboro RMV just in time for busy February school break.

Rachel Kaprielian, MassDOT Registrar of Motor Vehicles, announced the availability of driver’s license permit testing at the Attleboro RMV Branch, located at 75 Park Street.

The Attleboro Branch is one of the two Commonwealth express branches that provide limited license and registration transactions. The availability of the permit testing will help the RMV manage the flood of test takers during the busy school vacation.

“Teens and new drivers may now complete this important step in the licensing process closer to home,” Kaprielian stated.

Residents will no longer need to travel to Taunton, Milford or Brockton to complete the test.

“Expanding access to this popular service will not only benefit potential drivers in the Attleboro community, but will also lighten the load at other registries, allowing for a more efficient experience across the Commonwealth,” said Senator Richard Ross.

In 2012, The Registry of Motor Vehicles administered roughly 45,000 permit tests. The addition of permit testing in Attleboro will lower wait times for customers at other locations.
