FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) - City officials demolished a nuisance property in Fall River on Monday.

The house on Conant Street has been vacant since a fire left it uninhabitable nearly a decade ago.

Through the Building Blocks initiative, the city and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office worked with the bank that now owns the property to demolish it.

The city has identified 4 properties in this neighborhood that it's working to improve:

  • 41-43 Conant St. - Demolished August 13
  • 335-337 Peckham St. - Property near completion
  • 82 Cook St. - Property has been vacant for over two years, inspection scheduled for August 15
  • 163-169 Hamlet St. - Receivership pending
