NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) -- A husband and wife have been arrested for robbing doughnut shops while armed with a hypodermic needle.

According to The Attleboro Sun Chronicle , the suspects would tell employees that the needle contained AIDS-tainted blood.

North Attleboro police arrested Gregory Mansur, 23, and his wife, Amanda Mansur, 24, as they were believed to be plotting to rob the Honey Dew Donuts on Route 1 Thursday.

A warrant was put out for the husband's arrest earlier in the day in connection with similar robberies in Plainville, Franklin, and Bellingham.

The paper reports that they've been charged with attempting to commit armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
