NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) – New Bedford police made an unexpected discovery during a drug raid on Monday night.
According to the Standard Times , officers responded to 1242 Pleasant Street and found a litter of malnourished pit bull puppies in a makeshift cage, with no access to food or water.
Narcotics detectives detained three adult pit bulls, along with some marijuana.
Animal control took custody of the animals, and report that all are expected to survive.
A man was arrested in connection with the crime, and faces both drug and animal cruelty charges.
