Mother, infant found dead in apartment

Police: Deaths Not Considered Suspicious

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) -- A woman and her two week old infant daughter were found dead inside a New Bedford apartment Friday.

The mother has been identified as Reina Aicia Ramos, 18, of 34 Bullard Street and her 3-week-old daughter, who also lived in the apartment with her mother.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, a preliminary autopsy conduced Saturday showed that the deaths are not considered suspicious. However, an exact cause of death will not be known for several weeks.

Neighbors tell Eyewitness News the woman's boyfriend discovered them on the bathroom floor. Officials have not said exactly what happened, but reassured people living in the area the deaths are not considered suspicious.

One neighbor claims the woman was had a history seizures, and a her medical condition may have played a role in the deaths.
