Mass. soldier dies from war injuries

Norton native succumbed to injuries Saturday

NORTON, Mass. (WPRI) - A soldier from Norton, Massachusetts has died from injuries sustained overseas.

The Department of Defense announced this evening, that 38-year-old Master Sgt. Gregory R. Trent died in Bethesda Maryland on Saturday.

Trent suffered wounds in Baktaba Afghanistan on July 31 when his unit was attacked by enemy forces.

Trent was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
